Jonathan Hartman, Emmy Nominated Composer for Film & Television
Jonathan Hartman is an Emmy-nominated composer for film and television, known for cinematic scores that fuse orchestral power with modern electronic edge. He is a key creative voice behind Games Workshop’s Warhammer universe, shaping the sound of Hammer & Bolter, Interrogator, and Blacktalon, as well as the company’s global ident. His breakout score for Angels of Death became an international hit, with its soundtrack charting across multiple countries and ranking among the top soundtrack releases globally.
He earned an Emmy nomination for Dark/Web (Amazon Prime), recognized for its distinctive, analog-driven sound. Additional credits include Outlander (with Bear McCreary), Superstition (SYFY), and feature films such as The Employer and The Chaperone.
Hartman’s musical foundation began in New York City as a professional jazz saxophonist, where years of live performance shaped his instinct for rhythm, tone, and storytelling. That sensibility carries through his scoring—music that moves fluidly between intimacy and cinematic scale. Based in Los Angeles, he composes for projects across fantasy, science fiction, and drama, with a focus on building immersive sonic worlds.
