Follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate relationship is ignited that tears Claire’s heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

Back in mid 2014, I was approached by Bear McCreary to work with him and his amazing team at Sparks & Shadows.  I’d always been a huge fan of Bear’s writing, as well as the shows he’s worked on: Battlestar Galactica, The Walking Dead, and many more.  After some conversations and sharing some music, he gave me a unique opportunity to compose some additional music for the first season of OUTLANDER.

I was fortunate to compose some musical pieces on four episodes, and it was a real blessing to work on a show of this caliber for my first television experience.

I learned a lot from working with Bear; he’s got his own musical voice and understands how picture and music interact in a deep, storytelling way.  Bear is also a champion for live musicians, and recording authentic instruments and players.   Outlander is an incredible show, and gaining millions of fans worldwide and stellar reviews.  Bear’s musical voice comes through in every scene, every frame.

It’s been a pleasure to be even a small part of this series.  I’m grateful for the opportunity, as well as the doors it opened for me in television.
