Games Workshop approached me and asked if I would be interested in composing another Christmas themed short animation for the fans this holiday season.   This time we had a set of interesting lyrics, composed by Games Workshop and myself.  It’s technically the very first time that a song has been written and performed in High Gothic for Warhammer.  High Gothic is a mix of latin, greek, and other elements – which made it ever more challenging to compose as well as perform.  We were all in new territory- so there were a lot of experiments with “how should this sound? how should it be pronounced when sung?”

An interesting and fun challenge to be sure!

I composed the song and brought in Monique Donnelly to sing.  Monique has been on countless films and television shows over the years, and is one of my favorite performers to work with; mainly because she has the uncanny ability to “get it” and understand the sensibility of the sound of a project extremely quickly.   Then perform it in a shocking moving way.

As expected the fans had a huge reaction, over a million views in the first week and thousands of positive comments!  Always great to connect with the fans.
